Solar Eclipse - March 20th, 2015

Though this eclipse was total from the Faroe Islands and arctic i decided to remain at home due to the poor weather prospects along the eclipse track. The weather forecast for the eclipse day turned out to be poor at my home location on the south coast of the UK. I decided the night before to drive 150 miles west to near Hartland, Devon where the chances of a clear sky in the early morning looked good.

As luck would have it i drove from deeply overcast skies at home into clear though misty skies at the observing site. The mist really added to the eclipse viewing experience allowing direct naked eye viewing of the Sun at times. Below are two montages made from images i shot of the event. All taken from a peaceful hill in rural Devon. A memorable morning!
